Philadelphia, Day 2 (so far)
Hello. I am currently watching The Incredibles in my hotel room. My dogs are woofing.
Today is day two of Deanna’s Most Excellent Vacation. As I mentioned in my last blog post, I’m here for a company onsite. It doesn’t start until Tuesday. Rather than fly in on Monday, I decided to come down early to have some kind of a vacation. I really haven’t had a vacation since I traveled to Chicago in 2022.
Unlike my last two trips, I came here for the express purpose of taking photos. I almost brought the X-T5 with me instead of the X-H2s, but I wanted to bring the camera that would take the best photos, so the X-H2S it was. So far, she’s been holding up great.
What I’m enjoying the most about this trip is I can do anything I can. Want to go back to the hotel? Cool. Want to keep walking? Cool. Time is meaningless when you’re a solo traveler. You can be out as late as you want or pack it in as early as you want.

The Art Museum/The Rocky Steps
The Liberty Bell
Wandering around Washington Square
The Fashion District
And later, Philly Pigeon’s Poetry Jam. I should’ve gotten a ticket that guaranteed me a spot on the Open Mic, but that’s okay. I’m just excited to go and hopefully meet from Philly poets.
